It’s a tad chilly here. A big high of 18 degrees today with a windchill of -6 so basically it feels like you never want to leave your home. It was time to brave the cold though today and get to it on another post!
This weather has me living in layers to stay warm. Layers are a must for living in the Midwest. One minute you’re freezing outside and the next you’re inside with the heat cranked up.
Dressing in layers can be so simple with a few basic pieces.
What you’ll need:
Base Layer (think tank, tee, or long sleeved shirt)
Second Layer (think long sleeved button down shirt or a long cardigan)
Third Layer (think light weight jacket or vest)
Fourth Layer (this one is easy…your coziest scarf!)
Fifth Layer (your winter jacket if need be!)
With these items it’s so easy to mix and match a few outfits. You probably have most of them in your closet already.
Here are 2 easy ways to layer it up.
Target Striped Tee//Old Navy Long Sleeved Button Down//Francesca’s Army Jacket (Similar here)//Tickled Pink Chunky Knit Scarf (similar here)//Similar Pea Coat//Target Leggings//Old Navy Suede Botties//Target Knee High Socks//Nickel and Suede Leather Earrings (Size Large)
I’m breaking the rules by showing my socks with my booties. The easiest way to do it?.. Scrunching knee high socks! Keeping your ankles warm should be stylish.

Ta ta for now! Enjoy your week and stay warm!
