This isn’t your ordinary string trio…

SimplyThree

Simply Three is taking a violin, a bass and a cello to a whole other level.

I first heard Simply Three when I was down in Phoenix this past December at the Botanical Gardens. You automatically expect to hear Pachelbel’s ‘Canon in D’ (they play classical instruments after all right?), but what you get is Hozier, Adele, Coldplay, and Michael Jackson (just to name a few). It is nothing like you’ve ever heard before from three strings. The bass is suddenly a drum, the violin is hardly playing a second fiddle to Avicii in ‘Wake Me Up’, and the cello is rocking harder than your favorite 80’s hair band.

Today I was able to hear them again live and it was just as unique as I remembered.

Is it possible they make Hozier’s ‘Take Me to Church’ sound even more addicting than it already is?

You be the judge….

Simply Three ‘Take Me to Church’ (Be prepared to see something you’ve never seen before with classical instruments…and I’m not just talking about the tunes..)

And when they’re not rocking out, they’re mesmerizing you with tunes like ‘Latch’, ‘Photograph’ and ‘Somewhere Only We Know’.

What makes this band so unique is their willingness to break the barrier. With three albums already on the loose, their fourth (which comes out at the end of February) is likely to keep turning heads. (Hello to original songs!).
